Mr. Lauster has directed the work of his firm for over twenty-five years. In that time he has completed residential, commercial and institutional projects in the northeast United States and in Europe. His first project was the Chung Pak Building in New York, a mixed use structure of low income elderly housing, a child care center, a clinic and shops. Recent work includes a five story apartment and townhouse complex in Brooklyn and the Nan Shan Building, a ten story social services building in Flushing. In between he has designed houses and apartments in New York, Washington, D.C and Boston. The office designed one of the largest primary care facilities in New York, the 60,000 square foot Union Health Center and has built the largest pet surgery clinic in the city. The firm’s work in Europe includes the Petrom Building, a commercial office structure in Bucharest, Romania, and work for the United States Embassy in Rome.
CLA also does urban design studies. The firm has studied Manhattan’s West Side, Chiantown and Willets Point in Queens.
Currently, Mr. Lauster was a partner with Quadriad Realty Partners, a real estate development firm in New York City.
Mr. Lauster was the Director of the Pergolis Urban Gallery at the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute of Baruch College from 2003 to 2006. The gallery presented urban planning issues concerning New York City. He was also part of the Institute’s research group.
